Roman is five years old. He was born with heart disease.

Roman has an atrioventricular (AV) canal defect, which is a combination of several closely-associated heart problems that result in a large defect in the center of the heart. Dr. Gorbachevsky, a specialist in pulmonary hypertension, examined Roman at the Bakulev Center. He recommends that he get help soon.

If the defect is not repaired, Roman risks heart failure, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary over-circulation, stroke, and in several years - death. Roman is from Balashikha, Russia.

The Bakulev Center has accepted Roman for open-heart surgery. However, at the end of 2016, there are no funds available for Roman’s procedure.
