Thirteen-year-old Tatiana Romanova underwent surgery today at Saint Francis Hospital. At 10:15 am, Dr. Sean Levchuck came from the operating room to the visitor's lounge. He told Tanya's mother, Svetlana, that everything had gone well and that the hole in Tanya's heart has been closed for good.
Tanya will be kept overnight for observation and discharged tomorrow. Special thanks to Alex Kwartiroff and Nina Batalin for volunteering at the hospital today. Tanya's family is very grateful for all the support and are relieved that their daughter is now on the road to a healthy life.
Svetlana hugs Dr. Levchuck with tears of joy at the news that Tanya's surgery went well. RGOL USA volunteer Alex Kwartiroff looks on, heartened by the good news.
