Tatiana and her mother, Svetlana, arrived at JFK International Airport last night. Russian Gift of Life volunteer Alex Kwartiroff met the family at Terminal 1. Mother and daughter were tired from their journey to the U.S. A journey that included a sixteen hour train ride from their home in Ulyanovsk to the Moscow airport and then the nine and a half hour flight to New York. They are feeling jet lagged and exhausted, but have settled in comfortably at their "home away from home" - Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. In 2013 and 2014, each room at the house had a complete makeover by a different designer. Mother and daughter are pictured with Alex in their room against a backdrop of the New York skyline that kids can draw on. Tatiana is very excited to be in America and looks forward to seeing the Statue of Liberty. She said it's a dream come true to be in America. Her first appointment at Saint Francis Hospital with Dr. Levchuck is on Monday.
