Nine-year-old Anna underwent surgery today at Saint Francis Hospital. At 10:25 am, Dr. Sean Levchuck came from the operating room to the visitor's lounge. He told Anna's grandmother, Marina, that everything had gone well with the procedure and that Anna's heart defect has been closed for good. "She's good for 150 years," quipped Dr. Levchuck.
Anna will be kept for observation in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit and discharged soon.
Special thanks to Nina Batalin, Irene Doumanoff, and Witaly Jakowlew for volunteering at the hospital today. Anna's family is very grateful for all the support.
