Taisia and Alexandra are recovering nicely after their procedures today at Saint Francis Hospital.
Three-year-old Taisia and nine-year-old Alexandra underwent surgery today at Saint Francis Hospital. Dr. Sean Levchuck came out from the operating room twice to the visitor's lounge. The first time he gave good news to Taisia's mom, Anastasia, that everything had gone well and that Taisia's ASD (atrial septal defect) has been closed for good.
A few hours later, Dr. Levchuck gave the same great news to Alexandra's mother, Elena.
Taisia and Alexandra will be kept overnight for observation and discharged tomorrow.
Special thanks to Angela Lostritto, John Tucciarone, Irina Doumanov, Ludmila Kudashev and Boris Mourashkin for volunteering at the hospital today. The girls' families are very grateful for all the support.
