Five-year-old Viktoria and six-year-old Maria underwent surgery today at Saint Francis Hospital. Dr. Sean Levchuck came from the operating room to the visitor's lounge to tell their mothers that everything had gone well and that their daughters' heart defects have been closed for good. Both mothers expressed gratitude to Dr. Levchuck, the medical staff, and to the Gift of Life community for this second chance at life.
The girls will be kept overnight for observation and discharged tomorrow morning.
Special thanks to our volunteers for staying with the two families at the hospital today. They are very grateful for all the support.
