Russian Gift of Life volunteers Witaly and Irina brought Anastasia, Egor, Katya and their parents to Saint Francis Hospital this morning for a medical evaluation. Dr. Levchuck's expert staff performed electrocardiograms on each of the children to confirm their diagnosis. Dr. Levchuck examined all three children and confirmed plans for their surgery in October.
Though from the same region in Russia, none of the families knew each other until fate brought them together on the Gift of Life program. The children are all fast friends and keep each other company at Ronald McDonald House of Long Island while awaiting their life-saving surgery. Thanks to all those who support the life-saving mission of Russian Gift of Life USA, these three children are among the lucky ones. Without you, these heart defects could cut their young lives short.
