Gift of Life's 37th Annual Dinner Dance - An Emotional Evening

 | Published on 4/27/2012

The thirty-seventh annual Gift of Life Dinner Dance was held at the New Hyde Park Inn in New York. Over two hundred guests gathered to recognize International Humanitarian Honoree and New York City Councilman Peter Koo, and Angel Award Honoree Shelby Everett, the late wife of actor Chad Everett. In one of the evening's most emotional moments, Chad and his daughters Katie and Shannon accepted the Gift of Life Angel Award on behalf of their late wife and mother and spoke of her undying love and dedication for the life-saving mission of the Gift of Life.

Russian Gift of Life Executive Director Michael Yurieff and Save-A-Child recipient David Namatian and his mother Leili are introduced by GOL Board Member John Tucciarone at the 2012 Gift of Life Dinner Dance at New Hyde Park Inn in New York.

Executive Director Michael Yurieff read Leili's heartfelt letter requesting help for her son and Leili personally expressed her profound gratitude to everyone for helping to save her son's life. Nine-year-old David, who is studying English in his third grade class back in Russia, also came to the microphone. In a very resonant voice, he simply said the following words in English: "Thank you!"

Also attending tonight's gala at the Russian Gift of Life table were long time volunteers Olga and Alexander Floroff and their son Paul, Gift of Life Board member Milena Kantor and her young son Noah and Save-A-Child recipient David Namatian and his mother Leili.
