Five-Year-Old Arina Has A Heart Defect. Heart Surgery Can Save Her Life. Please Help.
is five-years-old and was recently evaluated by our
medical colleagues at the Bakulev Center in Moscow. Arina has been hospitalized for heart surgery twice before. Her current condition can be treated
without the need for open-heart surgery, using a medical device called
an occluder. Without this operation, Arina’s
condition will get worse. Please help her become a healthy child.
She was referred to the Bakulev hospital because of moderate cyanosis and dyspnea. The echocardiogram showed typical features for hypoplasia of the left ventricle. The daughter of a school teacher and a construction worker, Arina lives in Moldova.
Emergency funding from Russian Gift of Life, USA helped pay for Arina's surgery.
Arina was successfully operated at the Bakulev Center in Moscow on December 12, 2010.
